Perfect Autumn Journal Prompts

Why Autumn?

Why not Autumn?? I think to anyone who reads my blog over the next few months, it will become very obvious that this is my favourite time of year. From September until about March, I am at my happiest.

It seems only right to continue my monthly journal prompt series with this Autumn theme.

I can’t wait to answer these prompts and I hope you join me. I will be sharing the responses like I did with The Journey of Grief – Journal prompts on Instagram and Facebook.

Why is a journal prompt useful?

For me, having a reason to write each day is so important. It makes me stop, even just for a few minutes each day.  It’s a moment in each day that is not about work, or housework or being a Mum. But it is also lovely to look back over your thoughts from the years, see how your answers could possibly change over time.

Do you keep a journal or diary? Do you feel it is valuable?

I hope you join in and find these prompts to be a fun way to record the time of year and how it makes you feel.

  1. I read recently that October is the time of the year when farmers reap their harvest. For many, their entire financial year will be based on this time, so October is full of hope and prospects.
Our selves, like the fields outside, get cleared, cleaned and ready for a new beginning. October is traditionally a time to reflect and plan forward, the moment to find new goals.
So yeah, Autumn is a great time to start a journal, or any other goal. Well done for the incentive!

  3. I’ve never been one to write in a journal, because all of my writing is for my blog. But the idea that it makes you stop and focus on just that has an appeal to me, because it isn’t something many of us do nearly enough. Reading through some of these prompts, it is something I can see myself doing and will give it a try.
